Two epic jams, squeezed into 48 hours the weekend of October 9-10, 2021. The trails were dialed and the S&M team was in town, it was bound to be a good time. Saturday, Catty Woods hosted their annual Halloween jam, complete with a costume contest and high air challenge on McRoast. The competition was steep, and Cory Foust walked away with the high air victory. Lou Delfino received the people’s award for “B.O.T.Y. (Bike of the Year)” Sunday was the start of a new Posh Woods jam, ‘Mosh at Posh’. The riders sessioned the Butcher jump with some of the best turndowns and tables I have ever seen! They were awarded ‘Best Table’- Tom Arkus, ‘Best Turndown’ – Eric Hennessy and ‘Raddest Rider’ – Clint Reynolds. Thankful the weather held for such an epic jam! Thank you to the trail’s locals for putting in so much hard work!
Tasha Lindemann has a gallery of her photography from 2019 posted up on the Defgrip website. The gallery contains images from the Catty / Posh trail riding season and some previously unreleased photos from Florideah Swampfest, the FBM X DIG DIY World Championship at the Lost Bowl, and the TRA Double Cross Dirt Jump Competition.
2019 has been a milestone year for Posh Woods, which has been celebrating twenty-five years of BMX rad-ness! It’s hard to imagine a set of BMX trails lasting a quarter of a century, but on Saturday, August 31st, Posh Woods hosted a 25th Birthday Jam and 4th Annual High Air Comp. Kyle Dipilla made the trip out to these legendary trails in Bethlehem, PA, and shot a gallery of photos for us, which you can view after the jump.
2018 was a wet one. Record-setting rainfall levels for almost the entire trail season had left trail locals all over the northeast feeling a bit bewildered, and frankly, pretty frustrated. Fortunately, the jams we host at Posh and Catty are a catalyst for great times no matter what the weather throws at us. When there is a small army of visiting trail shredders eager to get the trails running by any means necessary, the trails are likely going to run in any weather short of a Category 4 hurricane!
The GrindWorks BMX Jams, both the Pittsburgh Street Jam and the Binghamton Jam, are in their third year running as sister-jams. Both take place at the same time of year, typically only weeks apart, and share organizers, sponsors, and prizes. Being 300 miles apart, it’s also interesting that they share a lot of the same riders.
The annual Vans Pro Cup East Coast National returned to Woodward East on June 27th, 2019, and saw Clint Reynolds return to back up his 2018 win along with Chase Pauza (second place) and Jayden Mucha (third place) rounding out the top three. Josh McElwee was on hand to document the event and has a gallery of photography on the Vans Pro Cup website which you can view by clicking here.
On April 20th, 2019, the first stop of the FBM X DIG D.I.Y. World Championship was held at the Lost Bowl in Richmond, Virginia. Ride PA BMX contributing photographer Kyle Dipilla loaded up his gear and drove out for a weekend of second-hand smoke and BMX madness. You can view the complete gallery of photos after the jump. Kyle did a great job capturing the atmosphere of the event and some pretty choice riding photos as well. Don’t forget to follow Kyle on Instagram for more photography.
