ECD – Reid Menzer Trip Photos

Nilo Hodge just blessed the East Coast Destruction website with a Christmas Eve gallery of photos shot back in November during a trip to the Reid Menzer Skatepark in York, PA. The gallery includes shots of Dustin Clewell, Grant Bass (pictured above), Weng, and Tom Gorse who is a local at the park and was already on site when the ECD crew arrived. A video from the session is expected to surface in the near future. You can read some words from Nilo about the trip and the video project below and don’t forget to check out all the photos via the ECD website by clicking here.
“We met a videographer a while back that let us know that he was interested in shooting a bmx video with us at some point. Last Month, when he was ready to get it done, we took a trip down to Reid Menzer park in York to film with him. It was a crazy warm day in November, until about 3 p.m., then a wild storm rolled in and the temperature dropped like 15 degrees. The videographer brought some wild ass gear to shoot the edit with. I’m psyched to see how it turns out. We’ll post it when he’s done. But for now here’s a few photos Nilo shot throughout the day.” – Nilo Hodge

Photo Gallery: O’Hara Trail Jam

The O’Hara Trail Jam was held last Sunday, November 6th, by a group of locals that have maintained the trails for the past few years. The event gathered BMX riders from all over to celebrate what could be the trails last season. Over the past few years, the land the O’Hara Trails sit on has been threatened by development. Kyle Dipilla was on hand during the event and provided some coverage for our social media accounts. Kyle also shot some photos during the coarse of the day which he was kind enough to send over for your viewing pleasure. You can view all the photos from the O’Hara Trail Jam after the jump.

On Saturday, November 5th, Andy Celins hosted a Fall Roast back at the Creekside Woods located on the border between Northeast Philadelphia and Bensalem. Andy extended a personal invitation my way and it was a great opportunity to finally check out all the hard work that Andy and the locals have been putting in. Although I only live a few minute drive from the trails, I haven’t paid them a visit in a number of years. I arrived late in the day and only spent about two hours shooting around and talking with everyone in attendance. You can check out a gallery of photos from the Creekside Woods Fall Roast after the jump.

“Sunday was the annual Catty Halloween Jam down. The turnout was crazy, as usual. So many dope costumes and riders throwing down wild shit. I got there a little late, after the best trick contest but people were still riding to everything. Here’s a few photos from that day and sorry to whoever I hit in the face with my flash while jumping the shark fin.” – Nilo Hodge
Catty Woods Halloween Jam 2016
Last Sunday (September 23rd), The annual Catty Woods Halloween Jam went down despite some inclement weather conditions over the weekend. Frank Ashbridge was on hand once again during the event on behalf of his Shutter Destruction project. Frank shot a bunch of photos which he was kind enough to share with us for this gallery as well as an Instavid composed of footage from the jam Frank shot. However, due to Instagram’s new copyright restrictions the video had to be uploaded to YouTube instead. You can view the entire gallery after the jump.

Cotton Robbins – Barspin
Photo: Nilo Hodge
Nilo Hodge has been hard at work on his 366 Photo Project for awhile now, and hosted his first photo opening last week in Easton, PA. This photo of Cotton Robbins throwing a barspin in front of a brick building with an old painted sign also turned up online last week and both are perfect examples of that hard work paying off. You can read some words written by Nilo about the photo below and don’t forget to check out Nilo’s 366 Photo Project for more photography.
“I went out riding around Allentown with a bunch of the younger guys today. I met Cotton a little while back and he’s pretty solid dude. I saw him trying out this tight bank to barspin. I’ve always loved the old painted sign in the background and I wanted to incorporate it into a photo. The sun was beginning to set and the sky looked awesome. I asked Cotton to give the barspin a go again and he was down. This is the shot that we came away with.” – Nilo Hodge
