2014 Year End Q&A

McLovin - Feeble Grind

Cody Neiswender, McLovin’

1. It was a great year for me in general. We premiered our full length video “fuckswitit” in three locations and it was awesome to see all the positive feedback.

2. I took a trip in January to Austin with the ECD X Atown Trash dudes. Shit was to awesome and wild. Other than that I just traveled around PA a lot.

3. $kapegoat 10>>>

4. I broke my face in 8 spots and knocked out three teeth and that kinda sucked. Other then that it was a good year.

5. More trips, more bike riding, more lurking shady neighborhoods, and more beers.

1. Well, as you may have heard, I moved out to Pittsburgh for College. So that was big, but meeting my son Cameron Girvin and his punk ass friends was definitely a highlight. I’ve met a lot of rad dudes out here.

2. I went out to Akron, Ohio with a few Pittsburgh homies and got to ride that red bank spot that garret and Colin had clips in deadline. I blew the fuck out of my backfire on a pegs hard 180 down a rail so I was strugglin for a bit that day.

3. Biz’s Verde edit was so nice. Also, the Mutiny in Philly edit was easily my favorite this year.

4. Moving off to Pittsburgh was bittersweet. It sounds contradictory but I love it out here, even though there’s nothing like the crew I had back home. Other than that, it’s been all smiles and lots of fun.

5.I’m looking forward to getting together with the crew again over the summer. Everyone’s learned so much since I left.

1. The highlight of 2014 was having Mike Laird build me a custom frame. Being able to shred on a Laird frame is rad. With all of the specs just the way I want them, this frame has been my favorite yet!

2. I went to Florida twice earlier in the year for the Florida BMX Contest Series. I went to Athens, GA for the first stop of the Trans Jam in March and to Raleigh, NC for the second stop in May. In early June I went to Youngstown, OH for the Wedgewood Ramps Contest. In late June I took two good friends to New Hampshire to ride Rye Airfield, Rhode Island to ride Impact Skatepark, and on the way back we hit up L.E.S. in NYC. In July and August I traveled to do shows in NY, OH, WV, MD, NJ, DE, VA, NC, MA, and CT.

3. My favorite web edit this year was Dennis Enarson’s Signature Parts Promo. It was insane! Dennis can ride anything.

4. The worst part of 2014 for me was in August. First, I crashed on an opposite Tabletop and fractured my hip. Second, three days before I left for Woodward I sprained my ankle while filming an edit at Newport, DE. Third, while at Woodward I shattered my nose on my crossbar. Lastly, I fractured my hand filming for a GRINDlab Trails Promo. August was a shitty month for me.

5. In 2015, I’m looking forward to Simple Session in Estonia, Metro Jam in Toronto, along with all the other contests, shows, filming for edits, and sessions with my friends!

1. For me it was a tie between finishing up and putting out the Ride4FistBumps Park Mix and the release of “Under The Sun” filmed and edited by Sam Downs. The R4FB park mix was my first project that was filmed on my personal camera and edited completely by me. As far as Sam’s project, I was stoked to have clips and help film, and so great to see all the hard work and good times with the homies come together. Sam did a great job!

2. Yeah, spent some time in Syracuse and NYC, D.C., South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia Beach, Atlanta, Baltimore, all over PA, and in late October I made the move to Tallahassee, FL to pursue a career.

3. Dan Lacey’s Homegrown section, Fiending, Cinema x Markit in Vegas, AboveBelow, Dan Conway Savage Frame promo, The Michigan Video, Mediocre at Best and I know I forgot some… lol.

4. Luckily last year was injury free for me apart from your normal scrapes, pedal bite, rolled ankles and wrist pains. I had a few things I had hoped to get filmed last year but didn’t pan out… whether it be camera difficulties, weather, the crew being on different schedules, bike parts issues or just not feeling up to it.

5. Just having fun on my bike, traveling more, meeting new homies and continue filming for the next Ride4FistBumps project. I’d also like to give a shout to Sam Downs, Austin Bevins, Kevin Little, and everyone involved with and supporting Ride4FistBumps.
